Security Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES:


To provide a security service to the university property, staff, students and other stakeholders. Responsible to guard university property and assets and create a safe and secure environment. In execution of duties also monitor and report incidents observed. This includes responsibilities related to traffic, gate, undercover, patrol and events / adhoc tasks.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 6 

6 Months experience in a Security environment 

PSIRA Grade C


REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

  • Security operational skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Communication skills
  • Access control procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation e.g. Regulation of Security Officers Act, National Road Traffic Act and Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act.

The all-inclusive remuneration package for this contract position will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
