TAX ADMINISTRATOR
Job purpose:
- To provide tax and support services to the internal Tax Department and to our Managers and Partners with regards to client specific communications received from SARS either by email or post.
- To continually assist and ensure that the clients receive excellent tax service and thus building and maintaining relationships that support the PKF Octagon culture and values.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Attend to the daily retrieval of assessments and other correspondence from Outlook and SARS e-filing.
- Save assessments and correspondence from SARS to Server and other designated network locations and/or client folders.
- Attend to the processing of tax assessments and statement of accounts and distribution thereof to internal Tax Department.
- Attend to “Assessments due” report in GreatSoft (bi-weekly)
- Distribution of all SARS e-filing related correspondence to respective staff members for Partner’s attention.
- Create and update of GreatSoft queries to enable staff to monitor supporting documents requests, progress of objections, IT14SD’s etc.
- Update progress status of queries in GreatSoft as SARS letters arrives, and advise staff with progress reports thereof;
- Create monthly GreatSoft query reports to Partners and Managers
- Ensure the correct GreatSoft query allocation to staff members and monitoring the follow up status thereof.
- Ensure GreatSoft notes are captured on the GreatSoft system pertaining to assessment errors etc.
- Correlate the efiling letters to the GreatSoft letters received.
- Monthly updating of the Refunds due report.
- Creating new users for staff on our e-filing portfolio.
- Provide assistance in the Tax Department by way of monthly reports generated from GreatSoft.
- Provide ongoing support and administrative function to the Department Head, Partners and Managers as and when required e.g. filing, faxing, photocopying, scanning, retrieving files etc.
- Participate in relief switchboard duties as and when required.
Qualification and experience required:
- Matric
- Must have at least 1 years’ experience in a Tax administrative role.
- Must know the latest administrative tax rules and legislation.
- Must be computer literate, must know specifically GreatSoft and SARS e-filing.
